| The oldest thoroughbred racetrack in America is the Saratoga Springs Race Course. With a long and storied history, many racing champions have come and gone through the paddocks and passed the grandstand of this noted locale. Named as one of Sports Illustrates “Top 20 Venues of the 20 th Century” this race course has been an intrinsic part of Saratoga Springs. Since 1894, the horses and betting on the horses, has been a major part of the summer, the 6 week meet draws visitors from far and wide. The stakes are high at Saratoga Race Course.
